At Let-It-Cold, our mission has always been simple: to reduce post-harvest losses and improve incomes for farmers and traders through accessible cold storage. Today, we’re excited to share an important milestone in that journey which is our participation in the Triggering Exponential Climate Action (TECA) Program.

Being selected into TECA marks a significant step forward for us, not just as a company, but as part of a broader movement to build climate-resilient solutions across emerging markets.

Why This Matters

Across Nigeria, especially in the northern region, a large percentage of perishable produce is lost before it ever reaches consumers. For farmers and traders, this isn’t just a waste, it’s lost income, instability and missed opportunity.

At Let-It-Cold, we are addressing this challenge by deploying solar-powered, pay-as-you-store cold rooms directly within markets. Our goal is to make cold storage affordable, accessible and practical for everyday users. Participating in TECA gives us the opportunity to accelerate this work with the right kind of support.

What TECA Brings

The TECA program, led by BFA Global, is designed to support early-stage climate ventures working on scalable solutions. Through the program, Let-It-Cold will receive:

• Catalytic capital to support deployment and operations.
• Venture-building support tailored to our growth stage.
• Strategic guidance to strengthen our business model and execution.
• Access to a network of partners, advisors and investors.

This combination of funding and hands-on support is critical for companies like ours that are building infrastructure-heavy, impact-driven solutions.

What We’re Building Next

As part of this program, we are moving forward with the deployment of a 5-ton fully automated cold room in Northern Nigeria. This facility will provide affordable cold storage for traders and farmers, reduce spoilage of perishable goods, enable users to store produce longer and sell at better prices while serving as a model for scaling into other markets.

Joining TECA is not just about funding. It’s about building the right systems, partnerships and momentum to grow sustainably.

We are focused on driving high utilization of our first cold room, deepening relationships within local markets and refining our model for replication across multiple locations.
